As you can see it does not cover the pitch and if rain is falling at an angle some guests in level 1 seating may get wet. The stadium hosted the 2011 champions league final between barcelona and manchester united 3 1 and two years later the 2013 champions league final between bayern munich and borussia. Even though the roof does not completely close it does cover every seat in the stadium which makes wembley the largest fully covered stadium in the world. The new stadium officially opened in march 2007.
