So following adam suggestions would be my choice of mounting.
You will make a mark on the wall using the how to make a mark for a wire hanger instructions available in the youhangit youtube series seen here.
To install drill a pilot hole then insert the anchor and tap or screw it into place flush against the wall.
After i determined the exact height where i wanted the shelf and shelf brackets i penciled on the wall where the mounting holes in the brackets would be on the wall.
Mark the location of the top edge and the center of the frame.
Set the mirror down.
Check out sleeve expansion anchors for lighter weights.
Place a scrap piece of wood that is approximately half as long as the mirror is wide underneath the hanging wire on back of the frame.
The whole point of the answer that i posted was about having the 3 4 inch plywood large enough to be 1 larger than the tv bracket and 2 extend across at least two if not three studs 3 the plywood securely screwed into those studs with multiple strong screws at each stud and finally 4 mount the tv bracket to said plywood noting that with proper screws the plywood will be very good at.
Taps between studs will sound more hollow while taps over studs will sound more solid.
If you don t have a stud finder you can approximate the location of the studs by tapping on the wall.

If you re hanging a heavy mirror on drywall without the support of a stud you need drywall anchors that can bear the weight of your mirror.

Always mark the center of the stud and keep in mind utilities might be attached to it if the stud is near a light switch outlet or faucet.
Slide an automatic stud finder along the wall to find the studs.
You see of course there are studs holding up the wall they re just not in the exact place where i needed them for the bracket placement.
With a pencil mark the outside edges of each stud in the area where you plan to hang the mirror.
You re dying for that stud to be in just the right spot.
Once you have chosen your two hooks simply pick the spot on your wall where you would like to hang your mirror with or without a stud.
Locating it over a stud is helpful but not necessary with the right anchors.

If screwing into a stud you ll only need a 1 1 4 inch screw or 1 5 8 inch screw for secure mounting through 1 2 inch drywall.
You need that stud to be in just the right spot.
